Concordia College Alabama is excited to announce that Dr. Jack Yang will join the Concordia Family as the new Executive Vice President of Global Academic Initiative. In this integral role, he will oversee the global expansion of our admissions efforts, seeking out potential opportunities for international students to attend Concordia. As Concordia is always seeking ways to create a diverse, multicultural student experience, Dr. Yang’s expertise in education and international operations will no-doubt be hugely beneficial to the college.
Dr. Yang has served as an academic professor since the year of 2003. He holds a doctoral degree in adult and higher education from the University of South Dakota and three master’s degrees in both business and educational technology. Dr. Yang has diverse academic experience in teaching, research and administration. In terms of academic teaching, he works for institutions both in the United States and Taiwan; has taught courses such as Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Organizational Behavior/Leadership, International Business, and Marketing. Dr. Yang also teaches educational and cultural subjects such as Distance Education (e-learning), International Education, Cultural Creativity, and Digital Archive. He has published over 100 research papers in academic journals, international conferences, many patents (Invention/Utility), and 8 books (include APP). His research areas include international education, business, e-learning, and cultural creativity. Dr. Yang has also had exceptional performance in academic research projects/funding operations. He has received over one million US dollars for research funding from the National Research Council, Ministry of Education, as well as other government units over the past decade.
Dr. Yang also served as a department chair, journal associate editor, international conference chair, journal reviewer, and committee member in many international academic associations. He is a professional expert in international offshore program development/operation, marketing /recruitment and budgeting and has over 15 years of successful experience in practical international/offshore program operations.
Besides his academic ventures, he has twice been awarded National College Fencing Champion (in Taiwan) and Midwest Heartland Circuit Fencing Champion (USA). He also enjoys Horseback riding, saxophone and motorcycle riding in his spare time.
